Squidfest – Part 1

Today’s comic is part 1 of our Squidfest report. Overall the event was a lot of fun and there was a good turn out. Kruton may have a better count, but I thought there was 30-40 people. We got to meet the guys who do the popular webcomic MacHall. Don’t expect them to link to us anytime soon. They acted like they were a little “too cool” for us and probably won’t even look at this site. Most of the evening the attendees were playing one of two games: Battlefield 1942 and Unreal Tournament. Since my laptop wouldn’t run Battlefield I was in the latter group. Although I did get to play Battlefield a couple times on kruton’s computer. There was more stuff that happened but I got to save something for the rest of the week. To be continued… Continue reading "Squidfest – Part 1"

Johnny Quest thinks we’re sellouts

As kruton blatenly pointed out yesterday I added a banner ad to BiTSMACK. Today’s comic is a gross exageration of things to come. Until the server fairy comes and leaves a web server under my pillow, it still costs money to host this site. Don’t worry, I would never stoop so low to put a pop-up ad on the site. Those are pure evil. If you want to help out BiTSMACK, you can click the banner and sign-up. Most of the offers advertised are free anyway so it’s a win-win situation. A Wavebird is neither a wave nor a bird… discuss

After today’s comic kruton was able to talk me into getting a Wavebird controller for Gamecube. At first I was like “big deal, a wireless controller is nothing new.” I’m not so much impressed with the range or the fact that it works through walls. After all, it’s not like my couch is 20 feet away, and I don’t have a wall between me and the TV requiring me to use my x-ray vision. What’s so nice about a wireless controller though is that I can leave the controller on the couch, chair or wherever and there are no cords going through my living room. The other selling point is that it’s only $10 more than a standard controller, whose cord is so short I practically have to have the Gamecube on my lap. Nintendo obviously made the cords short to sell more Wavebird’s. This weekend my Grandparents had an auction since they are moving. I finally got a dining room table and chairs. No more card table for me. I also got a portable B/W TV which is going to become my video game mobile monitor. Kruton got a TV which we used to play Eternal Darkness. I wasn’t impressed with the game. In 2 weeks BiTSMACK is going to have a table at CinciClassic. Goz and I are talking about maybe giving away a prize or something. I urge any gamers in the Cincinnati area to stop by. I’ll post more details such as time and location later. Stay tuned. Continue reading "A Wavebird is neither a wave nor a bird… discuss"

Stays crunchy in milk!

Today’s comic is part of a complete breakfast. Not much has been going this week except for me playing Super Monkey Ball until the cows come home. Then I go outside and say “Hey cows! Get out of my yard.” After that I realize I don’t have a yard because I live in an apartment. Beginner and Advanced difficulty are so easy I practically had them beat just by turning on the Gamecube. Playing the game on Expert though is like paying someone to kick you in the crotch repeatedly. However, it’s all worth it when you get through a hard level on your millionth try. This isn’t my official review though, just my first impressions. Continue reading "Stays crunchy in milk!"

Excuses Excuses

There are three reasons today’s comic is lame.
 1. For some reason Windows won’t detect my digital camera when I plug it in, so I can’t get my pictures of the Atari Swap Meet onto my machine.
 2. I bought Super Monkey Ball for GC.
 3. I got back late from the Skillet concert. Great band though.First off, the Atari Swap Meet was like “The Night of the Living Dead” except that it was during the day, and the people there were only mostly dead. There were about a dozen people, 3 or 4 had stuff set up to play, and there wasn’t anything for sale. Well I guess there was stuff sitting on a table that could have been for sale. I thought it was odd that the items did not have negative number price tags. I mean, they obviously didn’t expect me to pay THEM for this crap. The people that were there didn’t look like gamers, and they didn’t even look like computer nerds. They each looked like they could possibly own their own junkyard, or work at a junkyard, or maybe they just came from a junkyard. It’s the only possible explaination of why the stuff that was set up to play was so dirty and greasy. And I actually paid $4 to get into this! At least we did meet one normal person that told us about CincyClassic in a couple of weeks. Goz, kruton and I might get a table to promote BiTSMACK. The day was not a total waste. We found a new video game store in Columbus and I bought Super Monkey Ball for GC and The Bouncer for PS2. Both are pretty cool games. Continue reading "Excuses Excuses"

BiTSMACK Wannabes

A lot of people have said they want to be in the comic so I decided it was time to hold auditions, starting with today’s comic. For those of you that asked the person in the comic is Amanda, a fellow gamer and student at The University of Findlay. I added a new movie to the downloads section. It’s something Goz and I made a few years ago and I recommend you check it out. I almost forgot the Atari swap meet is going on in Columbus tomorrow. It’s 9-3 at: Oakland Park Community Building 980 Lenore St. Columbus, Oh I’ll put up my full report on Monday along with pictures, hopefully. Continue reading "BiTSMACK Wannabes"

More DDR Fun

Today’s comic comes from the 4 hour DDR marathon Saturday night. It was a good time. Sunday I got to see Bleach in concert in Toledo. Bleach is a really cool band. You should check them out. I just got back from the concert and I am tired. RC sleep now. Quote of the Day: Rumble - Megatron! It’s the Autobots! Megatron - Impossible, they were doomed! ThunderCracker - Don’t worry, we’ll make them pay for un-dooming themselves. – Transformers Season 1, Countdown to Extinction Continue reading "More DDR Fun"

When DDR said "I’ll be back" I just thought it was quoting Terminator.

As kruton posted several times last week Dance Dance Revolution has returned to the Findlay mall. I decided to do a comic about it. What are you looking at? You think I’m only doing a DDR comic because there is nothing else to do is this town. Well I’ll have you know… uh… Anyway, last weekend I got a chance to see the first episode of the new He-Man cartoon and Transformers Armada. He-Man looks like it was completely remade. Since I haven’t seen the original in over a decade its hard for me to compare. This new one seems a little more grown-up, I thought it was pretty cool. Transformers Armada on the other hand just plain sucks. Here is actual dialogue from the meeting room where a bunch of corporate pricks thought up Armada: Prick #1: We’ve got a dozen shows just like Pokemon and we need a way to trick males 18-24 into watching. Prick #2: Why don’t we call it Transformers? When I was in high school dating cheerleaders and being a dick to all the nerds I remember them watching that show. Prick #1: Won’t the young males notice that the show is nothing like the original Transformers? Prick #2: Why the hell should I care what a bunch of nerds think? Prick #1: Good point. Wow… putting crappy shows on TV is exhusting. Let’s go play some golf, and admire each others BMWs. Prick #2: Sounds good. Then tomorrow I have an idea on how we can ruin Go-Bots. Continue reading "When DDR said "I’ll be back" I just thought it was quoting Terminator."
