Truth, Justice and The Schrodinger Equation in Quantum Cosmology

Truth, Justice and The Schrodinger Equation in Quantum Cosmology
Yet another actual conversation with K-Dog. So last weekend was pretty good. My birthday party was Saturday night and we had about 14 people. Equal number of guys and girls! Some played Mario Kart 64, some played Karaoke Revolution and others decided to give me money in a couple of poker games. The Raj also invented a new way to play Win, Lose or Draw using Pictochat on the DS. Ooh, that might be a good idea for a comic. Forget I said anything. In other news I beat Super Mario 64 DS already. Somebody please release some more games for this system! Continue reading "Truth, Justice and The Schrodinger Equation in Quantum Cosmology"

What’s My Age Again?

What’s My Age Again?
Yesterday was my birthday. Can we move on now? I felt the need to buy something so I picked up Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the XBOX. It has all the Sonic games good and bad, except for Sonic CD. I really don’t need to have my Genesis hooked up at all now because Sonic 2 was the only thing I played on it. So lately I have been playing Super Mario 64 DS and Sonic the Hedgehog. I’m just buying games I already have, but for newer systems. This is a strange trend that I’ll discuss more on Thursday. Continue reading "What’s My Age Again?"

Dynamite Rave

Dynamite Rave
Happy Thanksgiving! For some reason the clock on the server is 5 hours fast so you can see this comic way earlier than normal. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what you are thankful for, eat a good meal with your family, and apparently in your case read internet web comics. Don’t be ashamed, own your geekiness! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great holiday! RC out. Continue reading "Dynamite Rave"

Handheld WAR! What is it good for?

Handheld WAR! What is it good for?
I was really debating on whether or not to get the Nintendo DS. I think the fact that it sold out at so many places just made me want it more. Brad and I both picked one up with Super Mario 64 DS. I don’t know how to classify this system. It is less comfortable to carry then the original Game Boy but the games are so much fun I want to carry it with me. I thought the touch screen was going to be a gimmick but all the games I’ve seen utilize it in some way. Even though Super Mario 64 is my favorite Mario game I was worried that I would get tired of it quick, but they have added so many minigames, a couple extra levels, and 3 new characters to play as. The DS also comes with a Metroid Demo which has 3 training levels and multiplayer. I don’t think the multiplayer is that interesting when you only have a blaster and missles. Even Doom had more weapons. Oh well, I am way too tired to give the DS a thorough review. I also have news on a charity that Brad (the other guy in today’s comic for those that are new) started up. We are taking donations of toys and games for Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Are you copying Penny Arcade, you might ask. Absolutely. We rip off ideas to help kids. I’ll post all the information on how you can help tomorrow. Stay classy Bitsmack. UPDATE: Here is the Amazon wish list if you want to donate to the Columbus Geeks Children’s Hospital charity. We should have page to show our progress soon. Continue reading "Handheld WAR! What is it good for?"

Current Mood: Happy

Current Mood: Happy
I decided to put up a special Saturday comic to celebrate my return. Let me explain. When I quit doing the comic I was feeling uninspired and I wanted more time to work on other projects and play more video games. Then I got sucked into the soul crushing Livejournal. Basically it is a way to complain about your day and read about your friends complaining about their days. I don’t play video games any more than I used to and I haven’t worked on any other projects. So I decided it was time to bring back the comic. Enough people told me they didn’t care about a new layout or any new features, they just want the comics. I’m all about giving the people what they want so the comic is back on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. I hope to get the characters page updated this weekend and you can still post video games reviews just like old times. Continue reading "Current Mood: Happy"

Talk to You Later

Talk to You Later
This will be the last comic for awhile. But before you start torching my house let me explain why. In the spring of 2002 I had just got out of a serious relationship and I needed something to fill that void in my life. I started Bitsmack as a video game review site and worked on writing code from the time I got home from work till the time I went to bed. That summer K-Dog moved in with me and I had an unending supply of material to do my own comic strip. Since I couldn’t draw I wrote the jokes and drew boxes for characters thinking that I would draw real characters later. The talking boxes were kind of funny so I kept with that for awhile until it slowly evolved into what you have seen recently. K-Dog moved out once school started and because of classes I started doing a new comic three days a week instead of five. I graduated in December of 2002 and moved to Columbus. I was still living alone and hanging out with a new group of friends. Then March of this year I bought a house and the comic was starting to feel like more of a chore then something I looked forward to doing. Two of my friends moved in shortly after. I cut the comic down to two days a week but it just wasn’t as fun anymore. Right now I have a great circle of friends and we’re always going out to movies or bowling or shopping or something. I don’t want to be stuck at my computer two nights a week anymore. So where do we go from here? The site Bitsmack will go on unchanged as a video game review site and our personal blog. I’m still going to do comics for Classic Gamer Magazine so the comic isn’t completely dead. I still get ideas for comics and I want to bring it back someday. I just need an extended vacation so I can get out and enjoy life. I thank you all for your support and I hope you’ll keep visiting the site until the comic comes back. Thanks! The Game of Kings

The Game of Kings
Hey, here’s a comic. Saturday we had a party for Brad and Will graduating. There were like a bunch of Devry people there plus K-Dog, Cassadi, AJ, Megan and her friend Crystal. It was a really good time. Next week I head to Lakeside for my 10th year. Which means I’m going to need some guest comics. If you think you have what it takes to entertain a bunch of geeks send your comic to [email protected]. Continue reading "The Game of Kings"

So Brad, Will and TheRogg are graduating. Big deal, I did that like a year and a half ago. Continue reading "Reality Bites"

NES Crossing

NES Crossing
Today’s comic will cost you 1000 bells. I have to pay off Nook or his goons will break my legs. What… he doesn’t have goons? Then why am I paying him? A comic about Animal Crossing? What is this 2003? Well Brad picked up the game over the weekend and I finally got a chance to play it. The game is kind of like having a job. You do it every day and eventually you get to play NES games. This is too close to my real life. So far I have unlocked Tennis, which is a lame game, but the fact that you earned it makes it a little more enjoyable. The non NES portion of the game is fun. I look forward to the new stuff I get to do each day. Zelda, the Four Swords comes out on Tuesday. I actually preordered this one for a few reasons.
 1. I played it on the GBA against Goz and it was fun.
 2. Most of my friends still have their GBAs and link cables left over from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
 3. I got a free t-shirt for preordering. Continue reading "NES Crossing"

Over-Improved

Over-Improved
Here’s a comic. In other news I bought a comic book. More on that later. Comic Review: Astonishing X-Men #1 I don’t claim to be an expert on comic books but I have been collecting for about 14 years. However, I haven’t bought any comics in the last year because my favorite titles ended (X-Force, Generation X, Ghost Rider). When I heard Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy, Angel, Firefly) was writing Astonishing X-Men #1 I thought this might be a good read. I’m still kicking myself for not buying any of the comics Kevin Smith has written. Astonishing X-Men begins as Kitty Pryde is moving back into the X-Mansion. Professor X is apparently gone and the school is being run by Cyclops, Beast, White Queen, Wolverine and now Shadowcat. I don’t want to give too much away but Cyclops decides they need to be a super hero team again. The writing is pretty good. There are a couple suprises I didn’t see coming. And of course there are a few good Whedonesque jokes. My only complaints about the comic have to do with the artwork. Beast has the face of a cat now, and their new costumes aren’t that cool. Overall I thought it was a pretty good and I look forward to getting the rest of them. Continue reading "Over-Improved"
