I’ll "push back the release date" you!

Monday’s comic was delayed until <a href=https://www.bitsmack.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Comics&file=index&action=comic&id=315>today.</a> The best shows you aren’t watching I’ve mentioned before how much I adore Cartoon Network’s adult swim lineup. Cowboy Bebop and Trigun got me hooked on anime. Well now they have some new cartoons. The Big O (Sunday 11pm) is often compared to Batman. The animation style is just like Batman the Animated Series. It’s like a big fighting robot cartoon with a slick 1940s look. Fooly Cooly (M-Th 12am) simply blew my mind. Words cannot describe this show. If I tried to tell you what it is about or why I like it, I would be degrading it by trying to give it definition. You must watch this show at least once. Blue Gender (M-Th 12:30am) hasn’t impressed me yet. A guy is frozen and wakes up to find the earth is infested with giant alien bugs. The humans that are left have (now brace yourself) giant robot suits. Granted they’ve only shown the first episode so I’m going to give it a chance. Up Up Down Down Yada Yada

A week from today TheRogg, Goz and I are heading to WizardWorld in Philidelphia to meet Kevin Smith. I have no idea what to say to my idol when I meet him. I think I’ll be able to restrain myself from becoming a total gushing fanboy, but we’ll see. Speaking of comics, did anyone see the Smallville season finale this week? It was a pretty good cliffhanger and I have no idea what will happen next fall. EB Games Exposed!

A discussion with TheRogg and Goz prompted <a href=https://www.bitsmack.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Comics&file=index&action=comic&id=264>this comic.</a> I know I bash EB Games and it really isn’t that bad. I’m sure some of their stores have knowledgable employees. I was hoping to do a Wind Waker comic today but my copy won’t arrive in the mail until tomorrow. In other news I fried my motherboard while trying to assemble a second machine from spare parts. I couldn’t get it to power on at all. When I heard a snap and smoke started coming out, I knew something bad had happened. Needless to say, I’ve abandoned the idea of trying to build my own computer anymore, especially when you can get a complete system from Dell for like $499. I plan on getting one of these by summer to use for trying out Linux and LAN gaming. Maybe K-Dog will be able to get me interested in PC gaming again. He was doing a pretty good job the other night when we were playing Jedi Knight II online. Also I saw a commercial last night for some movie called “Holes”. Dark Cloud 2 rules… for now.

Puny earthlings, here’s a <a href=modules.php?op=modload&name=Comics&file=index&action=comic&id=260>comic.</a> Let me start by saying this is no exaggeration and I am completely serious: Dark Cloud 2 is THE BEST RPG I’ve ever played. Here are some reasons why.
  1. There is so much stuff to do, besides the typical dungeon crawling and leveling up you also get to build towns kinda like The Sims, and you can also make new inventions by taking pictures of things.
  2. All of the tedious, repetitive stuff has been taken out. By going to the menu I can instantly go to any town or dungeon, instead of spending minutes to run everywhere. When I leave a dungeon, my characters are automatically given full health, no need to find an inn.
  3. Smarter menu. If I am poisoned and go to the menu, the antidote will be glowing so I know quickly which item I need. It also tells me exactly which items I need to upgrade my weapons to the next level. Also the help menu is the best I’ve ever seen. At any time I can get a short tutorial on how to do something.
  4. The game just rocks. It has action based battling instead of turn based. The controls are great, the cel-shaded animation looks awesome, and even the music is pretty good.I know people think Chrono Trigger or Zelda are the best and I don’t argue that they’re classics, but Dark Cloud 2 takes RPGs to a whole new level. I’m even having doubts on whether or not the Wind Waker will be better. We’ll know for sure in another week. On another note, someone added the game Global Gladiators for the Genesis. FINISH HIM!

Sometimes I base comics on events in my life, then there’s <a href=modules.php?op=modload&name=Comics&file=index&action=comic&id=96>today’s comic.</a> I had the typical holiday: presents, food, battle for world domination. K-Dog, Goz and I played a cuthroat game of Risk. Goz won, but fortunatly this was “Lord of the Rings” Risk which means Goz currently only reigns over Middle Earth and not this planet. K-Dog finally got an XBOX. We played co-op on Serious Sam and it was a lot of fun. Lastly, I got a chance to check out a couple of really cool cartoons this week. The first is Undergrads. It is awesome. I think it does a good job of depicting college life from a geek’s point of view. You should definately check it out on Comedy Central. The other cartoon was Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Last homework ever

In case you were wondering why K-Dog gets hurt so much in the comic this <a href=modules.php?op=modload&name=Comics&file=index&action=comic&id=87>comic</a> should explain things. I’m not much of a PC gamer but when kruton asked me to join up for some Medal of Honor LAN action I thought “cool”. Today’s comic isn’t our exact conversation but it was pretty close. I can’t really blame them for quitting early to do homework, I have my own homework not getting done because I am doing comics about not getting to play games. The way I see it this is my last week ever to procrastinate on homework. It’s sort of sentimental in a lazy “not actually sentimental at all” kind of way.
