N-Gage Joke-Off

N-Gage Joke-Off
Yesterday the worst portable system in history was released. Remember this date to tell your grandkids. According to this article Nokia plans on selling six million units in the first two years. What the article does not mention is that 5.9 million will be bought by Nokia chief Ilkka Raiskinen’s parents and the other 100,000 will be donated to mentally handicapped children. The funniest thing is how gaming magazines and websites try to maintain their objectivity and pretend the N-Gage is a real console. They all know it sucks but they just won’t come out and say it. Honestly, I want to meet someone who bought an N-Gage, just out of pure scientific interest. It’d be like getting to meet Jack after he came home with magic beans. In other news the shirts have been ordered. We should get them in a couple weeks. Continue reading "N-Gage Joke-Off"

Surprise Party

Surprise Party
It’s no surprise that there is a comic today. I know Rogue Squadron III is a couple weeks away from being released but I can’t help poking fun at it because it bothers me so much. Everyone claims this game is something new but it’s based on the most overplayed franchise in video game history. The day will come when Star Wars games will add the year to the end of their title like sports games. Teenagers who weren’t even alive when Phantom Menace came out will have the following conversation: “Hey, did you hear Star Wars 2006 is out?” “No way man! I haven’t finished the Death Star trench battle on Star Wars 2005 yet.” “Well I heard the Death Star trench battle on 2006 is much better.” I am a Star Wars fan, but I’d rather play something with a new storyline, like KOTOR. At least then I wouldn’t have to shoot those darn AT-ATs anymore. Continue reading "Surprise Party"

Resident Evil – The Musical

Resident Evil – The Musical
The other night I decided to get out Resident Evil for the PS1. This is the first Playstation game I ever bought. While some say this game played a big part in created the “survival horror” genre, it also made huge strides in the “crappy voice acting” genre. Seriously, the cutscenes sound like something out of a high school play. So why would I get out an old game just to bad mouth it? Ever since I quit Gamefly I decided I would go back and play every game I have. I made a spreadsheet of all my games (so far just the newer systems, but I’ll get to “Battletoads and Double Dragon” eventually), along with how far I am in each game and whether or not I want to keep it. Unfortunately I don’t think Resident Evil is going to make the cut. Continue reading "Resident Evil – The Musical"

Hit and Run does not Gulp ‘N Blow

Hit and Run does not Gulp ‘N Blow
Today’s comic is inspired by the new game Simpsons: Hit and Run. I’ve only played the game a little bit so far but it is easily the best Simpsons game yet (yes that is including The Simpsons arcade game). The only thing the game is lacking is the random violence. My theory on why GTA3 is so popular is that I know people who can play the game for hours and never do a single mission. They just drive off ramps, shoot people and steal cars. In the Simpsons you have to do missions to have any fun. Continue reading "Hit and Run does not Gulp ‘N Blow"

Visionary

Visionary
It’s a lot easier coming up with comics when K-Dog is around. For those of you sitting on the edge of you seat, I did get passed the hard part on KOTOR. You can breathe now. Continue reading "Visionary"

TB v. Rogg – The Verdict

TB v. Rogg – The Verdict
Here is the conclusion of Friday’s comic. Over the weekend I got to play some horrible NES games, stay up horribly late and perform horribly at a DDR tournament. It was a good time! K-Dog and Lynex came down for DDRMME 3. Friday night we went over to the Devryguyz and played some of The Rogg’s collection of really bad NES games. There was Where’s Waldo, Heroes of the Lance and Xenophobe just to name a few. On Saturday I played in the DDR tournament. They lured me in with a tshirt for signing up. I’m sure K-Dog will post more about the tournament. Sunday I got back into playing Knights of the Old Republic. I am on this insanely hard battle versus two big creatures on the Sith world. If anyone has gotten by this let me know how you did it. 5: Implementation

5: Implementation
I was so busy last week I couldn’t even post news. To make up for it, here’s a comic. Ok, I’m hooked on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance now that K-Dog finally explained the way you get abilities. We also got a chance to team up on a mission, that was really cool. Also as far as the tshirts I am extending the offer. I still hope to get them sent out by the end of the month. Thanks for you patience. Continue reading "5: Implementation"
