DDR: The Gateway Drug – Part 2

DDR: The Gateway Drug – Part 2
Drugs are bad, m’kay. Ok, I haven’t actually got this game in the mail yet but I’ve been interested ever since I first saw it last fall. “You got your drums on my video game. You got your video game on my drums.” Two great tastes have come together. Sure, there is Drummania which is a lot of fun, but my drumset controller sucks and takes up a lot of room. Fun fact of the day: If you uncoiled your small and large intestine and streched them out all the way, you would die. Continue reading "DDR: The Gateway Drug – Part 2"

Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 9

Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 9
Coming to a theater near you, the storyline that wouldn’t die. Seriously though the last part of the story will be Monday. I for one am ready to get back to single comics that make no sense rather than big multipart stories that make no sense. I haven’t touched a video game for about a week. I need a break to work on other projects. Currently, I am trying to get Linux installed on an old 486 I have sitting around. I was having problems with my internet connection last night if you were trying to get to the BBS. It should be working ok now though. Continue reading "Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 9"

Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 5

Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 5
Here you go. This comic should releave you of that Tuesday aftertaste. I highly recommend TV. If you don’t have one you should really look into it. Lately, I’ve been watching Trigun and Cowboy Bebop on Cartoon Network. If you are new to anime check these out. This Sunday, Family Guy is coming to Cartoon Network as well. If you get the chance, Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and The Brak Show are good shows if you like weird cartoons that will actually make you laugh. Here’s a couple of site updates. First of all there is a new link to Ask Bitsmack. You can ask about anything, video games, movies, the art of seduction. We are pretty much experts at anything. The second point of business is that I have dethroned K-Dog from the Top Members list. Granted he is in Florida right now, but that is no excuse. What I need from you the users are some ideas to make Bitsmack better. How can I set this site apart from the rest and provide incentives to post reviews? Keep in mind this site brings in no money, so the incentives would have to be non-monatary. I’m open to ideas to make this website keep growing. Click Comments to post your thoughts. Oh yeah, one more thing. For the “Ask Bitsmack” I’ll be answering one question a week, starting next Wednesday. Continue reading "Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 5"

Under New Management

Under New Management
This comic should explain why I am in charge now. Your precious RC and K-Dog did not take me seriously as an evil villian and now they have paid the ultimate price. I have taken over this so-called “website” and plan to rule it with an iron fist!! Be prepared for changes to come. HA! HA! HA! Continue reading "Under New Management"

What has Brown done to you?

What has Brown done to you?
Today’s comic should explain why I STILL haven’t played The Wind Waker. If the Bitsmack humor leaves you unfulfilled you really have to check out this site. Also, I’ve been doing some research into the PC game Doom. Doom and Doom II were originally DOS games. According to Gamestop, their version for Doom II requires Windows to run. So it’s possible there are two versions of Doom II, a Windows and a DOS. I haven’t found any Windows version of Doom I so I left it in the DOS catagory. If anyone has further information on this let me know. Continue reading "What has Brown done to you?"

EB Games Exposed!

EB Games Exposed!
A discussion with TheRogg and Goz prompted this comic. I know I bash EB Games and it really isn’t that bad. I’m sure some of their stores have knowledgable employees. I was hoping to do a Wind Waker comic today but my copy won’t arrive in the mail until tomorrow. In other news I fried my motherboard while trying to assemble a second machine from spare parts. I couldn’t get it to power on at all. When I heard a snap and smoke started coming out, I knew something bad had happened. Needless to say, I’ve abandoned the idea of trying to build my own computer anymore, especially when you can get a complete system from Dell for like $499. I plan on getting one of these by summer to use for trying out Linux and LAN gaming. Maybe K-Dog will be able to get me interested in PC gaming again. He was doing a pretty good job the other night when we were playing Jedi Knight II online. Also I saw a commercial last night for some movie called “Holes”. Did you know that the hole’s biggest natural enemy is the pile? Continue reading "EB Games Exposed!"

GBA SP Released

GBA SP Released
Over the weekend, the GBA SP was released. Some stores had it as early as Friday. I picked mine up Saturday at Best Buy. Based on the poll results I bought A Link to the Past. I was hesitant to buy a game I can already play on the SNES, but then I realized I don’t own the SNES version. I’m not going to put up a lengthy review of the new Gameboy, enough other people have done that. What I will say is that the backlight is nice and the speaker is much louder. I can’t wait to get caught up on all the GBC and GBA games I’ve never been able to play before. In other news, my copy of The Wind Waker should be shipped out tomorrow. All this talk about Zelda lately made me want to put up a new poll. What is your favorite Zelda game? Continue reading "GBA SP Released"

KUALOA

KUALOA
K-Dog uses a lot of acronyms. The GBA SP comes out soon. You can still vote in the poll on what game I should get. Right now, Golden Sun and Zelda are in the lead but any of the other games still have a shot. Continue reading "KUALOA"

Dark Cloud 2 rules… for now.

Dark Cloud 2 rules… for now.
Puny earthlings, here’s a comic. Let me start by saying this is no exaggeration and I am completely serious: Dark Cloud 2 is THE BEST RPG I’ve ever played. Here are some reasons why.
 1. There is so much stuff to do, besides the typical dungeon crawling and leveling up you also get to build towns kinda like The Sims, and you can also make new inventions by taking pictures of things.
 2. All of the tedious, repetitive stuff has been taken out. By going to the menu I can instantly go to any town or dungeon, instead of spending minutes to run everywhere. When I leave a dungeon, my characters are automatically given full health, no need to find an inn.
 3. Smarter menu. If I am poisoned and go to the menu, the antidote will be glowing so I know quickly which item I need. It also tells me exactly which items I need to upgrade my weapons to the next level. Also the help menu is the best I’ve ever seen. At any time I can get a short tutorial on how to do something.
 4. The game just rocks. It has action based battling instead of turn based. The controls are great, the cel-shaded animation looks awesome, and even the music is pretty good.I know people think Chrono Trigger or Zelda are the best and I don’t argue that they’re classics, but Dark Cloud 2 takes RPGs to a whole new level. I’m even having doubts on whether or not the Wind Waker will be better. We’ll know for sure in another week. On another note, someone added the game Global Gladiators for the Genesis. This game is already there under the title Mick and Mack: Global Gladiators. Continue reading "Dark Cloud 2 rules… for now."
