NES Crossing

Today’s comic will cost you 1000 bells. I have to pay off Nook or his goons will break my legs. What… he doesn’t have goons? Then why am I paying him? A comic about Animal Crossing? What is this 2003? Well Brad picked up the game over the weekend and I finally got a chance to play it. The game is kind of like having a job. You do it every day and eventually you get to play NES games. This is too close to my real life. So far I have unlocked Tennis, which is a lame game, but the fact that you earned it makes it a little more enjoyable. The non NES portion of the game is fun. I look forward to the new stuff I get to do each day. Zelda, the Four Swords comes out on Tuesday. I actually preordered this one for a few reasons.
 1. I played it on the GBA against Goz and it was fun.
 2. Most of my friends still have their GBAs and link cables left over from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
 3. I got a free t-shirt for preordering. Continue reading "NES Crossing"

Now You’re Playing with Power

This is just a warmup for the real tribute. For those of you that don’t remember, there were a period of years when the popularity of the Atari 2600 dwindled and console gaming just wasn’t that great. Then the Nintendo Entertainment System was released. I remember playing Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda for the first time at a neighbors house and it was incredible. As I mentioned before this week marks the 20th Anniversary of when the Japanese NES (Famicom) was released. Continue reading "Now You’re Playing with Power"

It’s me! Wario!

Have a rotten day! After playing Wario World for the GC I now realize Wario is not just an “evil Mario.” Wario is like the “cool Mario.” Where Mario jumps on his enemies and uses a wussy water pack, Wario punches, throws, and piledrives his enemies. Don’t get me wrong, I still think Waluigi is pure evil, but nonetheless Wario World is a cool game. GBA SP Released

Over the weekend, the GBA SP was released. Some stores had it as early as Friday. I picked mine up Saturday at Best Buy. Based on the poll results I bought A Link to the Past. I was hesitant to buy a game I can already play on the SNES, but then I realized I don’t own the SNES version. I’m not going to put up a lengthy review of the new Gameboy, enough other people have done that. What I will say is that the backlight is nice and the speaker is much louder. I can’t wait to get caught up on all the GBC and GBA games I’ve never been able to play before. In other news, my copy of The Wind Waker should be shipped out tomorrow. All this talk about Zelda lately made me want to put up a new poll. What is your favorite Zelda game? Continue reading "GBA SP Released"

Link: The College Years – Valentine’s Day Blows

I really don’t know what Link was like in college. I also don’t know his feelings on Valentine’s Day. I just assume he agrees with me. Our poll is still going strong. I haven’t voted myself because I don’t want to affect the results. The poll is going to keep going until next Sunday so be sure to get your votes in! I’m currently working on two projects in addition to Bitsmack. One of them is the Bitsmackers cartoon. The other one is a game, but I don’t want to give too much away right now. Needless to say, I’m keeping busy in my free time. Continue reading "Link: The College Years – Valentine’s Day Blows"
