Honeymoon in Cyberstation
Read today’s comic or forever hold your peace.
Last night we had another successful episode of The Bitsmack/Devryguyz Sunshine Variety Hour (BDSVH). This month’s special guest was DJParanoia from Bemanistyle.com. Their site is down right now, but they’re working on getting running again. The topic of the show was our most anticipated games shown at E3. At soon as I get the MP3 uploaded I’ll let you know.

Show us your moves… again
Today’s comic is not an exaggeration.
Since I was able to beta test XBOX Live last year they gave me a year of service for free. That being said, I haven’t actually used it for months. The only game I have is Mechassult. Even though there are some interesting games I’d like to play the headset is not as cool as you would expect. Everyone I come into contact with can be grouped into three catagories:
- People who spout profanity every other word
- Nerds that are so annoying they couldn’t possibly have real friends
- Children who are also annoying because they talk too loud and/or use the stupid voice masking
DDR: The Gateway Drug – Part 1
Yeah I said that I was going to finish up that last storyline but I thought it had a pretty good finish anyway. Here’s something new instead.
Dance Dance Revolution is essentially a drug. In Japan there are about a dozen mixes and it’s all basically the same game. Why do we keep buying the newest version? I don’t know. Probably just to play the same game with different songs. Regardless, I am still looking forward to DDRMAX2 coming in the mail this week. Rhythm games have by far become my favorite video game genre. They’re simple to learn and easy to pick up and play for a few minutes. I’ve got another import game on the way too but I’ll talk about it more on Wednesday.

You say you want a revolution
Today’s comic is up finally.
We got back late last night from going to Wright State to play DDR Extreme, the newest DDR machine released. It is really cool. There are songs from ALL the Bemani games, even Beatmania, Pop ‘n Music and DanceManiax. It was a great day with the exception of the patchy snow on the ride home. I hope to get pictures from Bill to put up soon.

CinciClassic – Part 2
Today’s comic represents the new Bemani addiction kruton and I share. As he mentioned yesterday, at CinciClassic we had a chance to play a bunch of different rhythm games for the Japanese PS2. I have to say Drummania is my favorite. It was also at the Forest Fair arcade. So now I have to start saving up my money for a Japanese PS2. I’m thinking about selling some of my old games. I’ll put a list on the site soon.

More DDR Fun
Today’s comic comes from the 4 hour DDR marathon Saturday night. It was a good time.
Sunday I got to see Bleach in concert in Toledo. Bleach is a really cool band. You should check them out. I just got back from the concert and I am tired. RC sleep now.
Quote of the Day:
Rumble - Megatron! It’s the Autobots!
Megatron - Impossible, they were doomed!
ThunderCracker - Don’t worry, we’ll make them pay for un-dooming themselves.

When DDR said "I’ll be back" I just thought it was quoting Terminator.
As kruton posted several times last week Dance Dance Revolution has returned to the Findlay mall. I decided to do a comic about it. What are you looking at? You think I’m only doing a DDR comic because there is nothing else to do is this town. Well I’ll have you know… uh…
Anyway, last weekend I got a chance to see the first episode of the new He-Man cartoon and Transformers Armada. He-Man looks like it was completely remade. Since I haven’t seen the original in over a decade its hard for me to compare. This new one seems a little more grown-up, I thought it was pretty cool. Transformers Armada on the other hand just plain sucks. Here is actual dialogue from the meeting room where a bunch of corporate pricks thought up Armada:
Prick #1: We’ve got a dozen shows just like Pokemon and we need a way to trick males 18-24 into watching.
Prick #2: Why don’t we call it Transformers? When I was in high school dating cheerleaders and being a dick to all the nerds I remember them watching that show.
Prick #1: Won’t the young males notice that the show is nothing like the original Transformers?
Prick #2: Why the hell should I care what a bunch of nerds think?
Prick #1: Good point. Wow… putting crappy shows on TV is exhusting. Let’s go play some golf, and admire each others BMWs.
Prick #2: Sounds good. Then tomorrow I have an idea on how we can ruin Go-Bots.
