Another Hero, Another Origin

About two more and I could form my own Justice League. There’s not much going on besides me working on my MAME cabinet. I think The Rogg, Brad and I might be going to Wizard World this weekend. It’ll be worth it for me just to meet Eliza Dushku. Plus I want to do some shopping which I didn’t get to do last time. I used to collect comics but all the titles I used to read have ended. If I want to read them now I’d probably just get the collections instead of individual issues. I’m more interested in reading the stories now than collecting. By the way, there was a really good documentary on comic books on the History Channel about a week ago. I would check your local listings because I’m sure they’ll rerun it. Relative Goodness

Goz and I went and saw Hellboy over the weekend. It wasn’t incredible, but it didn’t really suck. After my comic on Friday, I decided to pick up Culdcept for the PS2. It is more like Monopoly than I expected. The games are pretty even until someone lands on a big money space, then it’s real hard to come back. My favorite feature is that even if you lose a game you still get new cards for your deck which will help when you take on the opponent again. Over the weekend I also updated the ads on Bitsmack. The first is Maveric PC which builds gaming PCs. The second is PlayAsia, which is one of the best import video game sites I’ve found. I’ve also added Google Adwords to the left column. It displays links that should be of interest to gamers. Bitsmack has been providing a fun place for gamers to hang out for almost two years now and by checking out these sponsors you can help keep it going. Continue reading "Relative Goodness"

I’ve got Sunshine

I didn’t get an April fools joke done this year. Just this comic instead. There’s not much going on in the world of video games lately. Final Fantasy XI was released for the PS2, though I don’t know why anyone would want to pay $100 to play a game that’s already been out for the PC for awhile. It’ll probably be the same people who can afford $13 a month just to play one game. I’m waiting for the day that Konami turns DDR into a MMORPG. K-dog would plop down $10, $15, even $20 a month to play that. Maybe I’m just cynical because I’ve never found a game that could hold my attention that long. What do you guys think of MMORPGs? Have any of you tried them? Are they worth the monthly charge? Continue reading "I’ve got Sunshine"

Ohayocon 2004 – Part 1

I’m back! In order to make up for last week I am doing 5 comics this week starting with this one. This was a pretty eventful weekend. I put in an offer on a house and it got excepted so I’m moving at the end of February. Yesterday was also Ohayocon in Columbus. It was kind of cool. Also, K-Dog had a DDR tournament so maybe he’ll post how that went. Continue reading "Ohayocon 2004 – Part 1"

From the road

You would think I would do a Halloween comic today, wrong! I’ve been in Cincinnati for the last couple of days and its hard to do a comic when I don’t have access to my computer. Anyway, it really isn’t Halloween until I leave my client (aka Satan) and head back to Columbus for some Devryguyz party action. Continue reading "From the road"

GBA SP Released

Over the weekend, the GBA SP was released. Some stores had it as early as Friday. I picked mine up Saturday at Best Buy. Based on the poll results I bought A Link to the Past. I was hesitant to buy a game I can already play on the SNES, but then I realized I don’t own the SNES version. I’m not going to put up a lengthy review of the new Gameboy, enough other people have done that. What I will say is that the backlight is nice and the speaker is much louder. I can’t wait to get caught up on all the GBC and GBA games I’ve never been able to play before. In other news, my copy of The Wind Waker should be shipped out tomorrow. All this talk about Zelda lately made me want to put up a new poll. What is your favorite Zelda game? Continue reading "GBA SP Released"
