Here’s your syllabus. Today’s topic: Boredom.
Well the first week of classes was as lame as can be expected. My classes are cake. I don’t even think I’ll have to write a single report this semester since I am taking all Tech and Math classes. I’m pretty excited about DDR coming back to Findlay. I went out to the mall at lunch but it wasn’t there yet. I played Soul Cailbur 2 instead. It’s pretty cool but the graphics aren’t any better than the first one on Dreamcast. Once I get off work I am heading back out. I forgot to mention I have been playing Super Mario Sunshine every free moment I’ve had this week. You can read my full review here. Continue reading "Here’s your syllabus. Today’s topic: Boredom."

You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany

You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany
The Jaguar release at Easton was not at all what I expected. When kruton, Goz and I got there at 9:15 there were about 20 people waiting. I didn’t think there would be many more people than that so we went to GameWorks for a couple rounds of DDR. When we got back at 10 there were already a couple hundred people in line. All in all the event was pretty lame as we stood in line with a bunch of freaks just to get inside a store I’ve been to dozens of times before. Saturday night kruton, the youth group and I went back to Columbus for a Christian rock concert. Squad 50, Thousand Foot Krutch and Reliant K are all pretty cool bands, and if you haven’t heard them, check them out. Kruton moved back to the dorm Sunday as you can see by this comic. I gave XBOX Live another try and it looks like they worked out the network problems because I was in a race within a minute of turning on the XBOX. I also had no trouble at all finding people to play with. Continue reading "You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany"

The First Adventure – Part 8

The First Adventure – Part 8
Our first adventure has finally come to an end. I could have made the story go on for weeks but I arrived at the point where even I don’t know what I’m talking about. I had some problems connecting to XBOX Live last night. Since it is just a beta test I can’t expect perfection, however it did set back the “convince kruton to buy an XBOX” revolution by months. Instead I just played Chrono Trigger and worked on comics. I recently bought the Microsoft Strategic Commander. It is a game device designed to fit in the left hand and make keyboard shortcuts for RTS games easier. I tried it out with Unreal Tournament, but it just doesn’t work well for FPSs. Although it does work really well with Paint Shop Pro. Tonight kruton, Goz and I are heading to Easton for the unveiling of Apple OS 10.2. I expect to see the usual mix of the rich and the hippie. I know OS releases are notorious for ensueing “Animal House” style parties, but I am more excited about going to GameWorks and playing a little DDR. Continue reading "The First Adventure – Part 8"

The First Adventure – Part 7

The First Adventure – Part 7
Today’s comic is my most ambitious effort yet. I knew I couldn’t do a cool fight scene in 4 panels so I went to a comic book style layout. Supposedly Chono Trigger is the greatest RPG of all time so I decided to give it a try via Final Fantasy Chronicles for PS1. I have to admit the game is pretty cool so far. Personally I still like Chrono Cross better, but I’m going to continue playing Chrono Trigger. Other than that there really isn’t much going on this week. The First Adventure – Part 6

The First Adventure – Part 6
Today’s comic approaches the exciting conclusion of the first adventure. For those of you think I am killing off K-Dogg from the comic don’t worry, he’ll be ok. Overall it was a pretty boring weekend. I played DDR at kruton’s Friday night. Saturday, I rented The Time Machine and Citizen Kane. You can read my full reviews by clicking “Read More.” I beat Parrapa the Rapper 2 which is by no means an extraordinary feat. I am really starting to get into The Bouncer, it’s a pretty cool game. Kruton’s continues his reign of terror posting reviews for every game he’s ever touched. If he smelled an NES cart in 1987 you can bet there will be a review posted about it. The First Adventure – Part 5

The First Adventure – Part 5
I decided last night would be a good chance to get back to some gaming. I started out playing Nightcaster for XBOX. It still isn’t a great game, apparently games don’t get better if you let them sit on the shelf. Then I put in Project Gotham Racing. I love being able to listen to my 311 and Bracket albums while I drive. Despite what kruton says, it is better than GT3. Lastly, Tennis 2K2 for Dreamcast is awesome. I don’t play a lot of sports games but I’ve never found a more realistic Tennis game. I’ll put my review up soon. For those of you wondering if kruton has gone insane with the number of reviews he’s been posting lately, I can assure you that kruton has in fact lost his mind. I read his reviews as a call for help from someone trapped in the darkness of his own madness. Read his latest reviews, unless of course you value your own sanity. Continue reading "The First Adventure – Part 5"

The First Adventure – Part 4

The First Adventure – Part 4
Part 4 is the second time since the start of the comic that kruton has been hit on the head with a shovel. If you have no idea what is going on read the comic from the beginning, well not the very beginning, those kinda suck. Dispite kruton’s streak of video game wins I haven’t been playing anything this week. Instead I have been watching The Simpsons Season 2 DVD. Season 2 is so much better than the first, but not quite as good as the third season. Goz and I call this “the golden season.” Next week is my last week before I trade in my freedom for the shackles of undergraduate education. I tried to trade in my freedom at Software Etc. for store credit but they wouldn’t give me enough money to buy Kabuki Warriors. Since school is starting up again I am only going to be able to post new comics on Mon, Wed and Fri. One last note, if you haven’t tried Vanilla Coke yet, it is awesome. I don’t really like regular Coke, and I don’t really like Vanilla Ice, but put the two together and you have a tasty drink. Continue reading "The First Adventure – Part 4"
