When I read the title, I had I had just finished a few articles on software patents, so I read it as “Patents Free Podcast”. Then I re-read it, and thought mine was… er… better?
Verizon employee Cassiebuns says that all phones must now have GPS for 911 service.
Her phone has VZ Navigator on it, and you can put in random words, it gives you businesses that are related, and then the phone gives you directions and a map like one of those tom-tom thingies. It keeps track of your location and tells you how many feet you have to turn.
We like to play with it. We put in “hamster” and it gave us directions to the nearest Petsmart. Whee!
Cassiebuns? Why would you ever name a kid that?
I didn’t know the GPS in the phones could do that. The VZ Navigator looks cool, but it’s not worth $10 a month. I saw Google Maps on RC’s Treo, and that is very cool.
