Ebay-Man Episode 2 – Two Peas in an iPod

Ebay-Man Episode 2 – Two Peas in an iPod
The new comic is up. Because of the drought in new video games I’ve decided to get out one of the classics: The Legend of Zelda, The Ocarina of Time. Instead of playing my Gamecube bonus disk I decided to get out the original because I never finished the game and I didn’t want to start at the beginning. After about an hour trying to figure out where I was in the game I determined I actually only need to beat two more dungeons. Last night K-Dog, the youth group and I went to the Relient K album release party/concert. It was a good time. I haven’t listened to their new album yet but it will be hard to top their last one. One last thing, we’re still looking for comic nominations. So far we have 3. Even if you don’t plan on buying a shirt you can still nominate a comic. I’m curious to see which ones are favorites. I want my… I want my ReplayTV

I want my… I want my ReplayTV
Friday I made one of my best purchases yet, the ReplayTV. Not only does it take over the functions of my VCR, (I no longer have to worry about running out of tape, or forgetting to set it) but it also frees up more time for me to work on other projects. If I don’t feel like watching TV I can watch my shows later. On weekends when there is nothing on I can watch shows I recorded during the week. Also the network functions are very easy to use. Goz and I have already sent shows back and forth to each other. I highly recommend it to anyone that watches a lot of TV. I can’t wait to watch those Cowboy Bebop episodes that are on at like 2am. For some reason the new comic didn’t get uploaded so I’ll try to upload it again when I get home from work. Ok, now it’s up. Continue reading "I want my… I want my ReplayTV"

More Entertaining than E.T.

More Entertaining than E.T.
Today’s comic is based on an almost weekly discussion Goz and I have. The world of gaming has been pretty boring lately. If you need proof read the last 2 comics on Penny Arcade. All I have is Timesplitters 2 to hold me over until the new Game Boy Advance and Zelda come out later this month. We’ve got a few nominations for comics to be featured on the Bitsmack, but we need more. If you’d like a tshirt of your favorite comic, click “comments” below. Good Times

Good Times
Today’s comic wasn’t based on any actual event. But it was K-Dog’s birthday. I also added a new feature to Bitsmack. When you look at a game you have the option of searching for that game on eBay. Continue reading "Good Times"

I Dream of MIDI

I Dream of MIDI
Today’s comic sums up how I spent yesterday. Once I found out how to download MIDI files to my cell phone I went nuts. I found some cool sites that have video game MIDI files. The first is VGMusic.com. This site has the largest database of MIDI files I could find. Another cool site is the DDR MIDI Palace. They have a lot of DDR songs in MIDI format. If anyone else has a cell phone that says it plays polyphonic ringers let me know and I can tell you how to download them to your cellphone. Even if you have an older cell phone you may be able to input your own video game theme songs. Do a search on Google for RTTTL and you should be able to find songs and instructions on how to get them on your phone. I also picked up a couple interesting games this week. I happened to be at Target getting some stuff for the apartment when of course I had to check out their game selection. While I was expecting the same games you’d find at a WalMart or Meijer I was surprised that they had lower prices. I got Timesplitters 2 for $30. I’d been waiting since before Christmas for this game to drop. It was well worth the wait. When you play the first level it’s like playing some glorious updated version of Goldeneye. It’s not just a FPS, it’s more like Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell from a first person view. Many missions require you to use stealth instead of just shooting everything. If you haven’t noticed, there seem to be this new crop of PS1 games showing up everywhere. They’re usually about $10 and have generic names like “Racing” or “Billiards.” I found one called “Superstar Dance Club.” I thought, “could it be, someone made an affordable clone to DDR?” Not exactly. The game is more like Parappa where you have to hit the right button as the cursor goes from left to right to the beat of the music. It is mildly entertaining and I could always try it out with the dance pad to see what that’s like. Continue reading "I Dream of MIDI"

A Hero is Born

A Hero is Born
With great power comes great irresponsibility. Friday night Goz and I went and saw the movie Old School. It was pretty good. My only complaint was that there really wasn’t a climax to the movie, it was just a bunch of funny stuff that happens and then it ends. Saturday was the DDR tournament at Defiance. I’ll let KDogg go into more detail on that. Continue reading "A Hero is Born"

Can you hold, I’ve got Pac-Man on the other line

Can you hold, I’ve got Pac-Man on the other line
I got a new cell phone. Sure I’ve had a cell phone for a few years but the ones I’ve had were cheap and weren’t worth carrying around because they wouldn’t stay charged or I’d a lose the signal. However, since the company was paying for this new cell phone I decided to get a good one. It has a color screen, voicemail, callerid and you can download games, pictures, screensavers, ringers, all kinds of crap. I’m hoping to download some better games than the ones included. The first one is a demo of a car racing game that is sluggish and boring. The second is Space Invaders, but it is also slow. The third is Monkey Ball. Keep in mind I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as the Gamecube version or even the Game Boy Advance version, but it still isn’t that great. I think it’s the fact you have to control your monkey with a button the size of a tic tac that brings this game down. I just don’t think action games work well on a cell phone. Where everyone knows your name

Where everyone knows your name
My life isn’t really like this… … yet. My Zelda bonus disk came yesterday, but I am putting it off until I complete Paper Mario. I thought it was a little too easy but then I found out Kruton has beat .hack in less time. I’ve also added computer reviews to the website. There is a new feature now where you can add a new game, and write your review all in one step. Check it out and let me know what you think in the forums. Continue reading "Where everyone knows your name"

Pretty Fly for a Blind Guy

Pretty Fly for a Blind Guy
This comic contains spoilers for Daredevil. You’ve been warned. Overall I thought Daredevil was a pretty good movie. The fact that I am a comic book fan probably makes me bias. My only real problem with the movie was the ending. I don’t want to give anything away so you’ll just have to talk to me if you want me to go into detail. In other news, I’m over halfway through Paper Mario and I’ve been playing about 13 hours. I hope to complete it soon because my Zelda bonus disc will be coming on Wednesday. The results of the poll are in and it looks like I’ll be adding classic and computer games to Bitsmack. There is a new post in the forums where you can list what you computers you want to see added to Bitsmack. Also, if you had any problems viewing the comic I have fixed it now.
