Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 8

Show no mercy! Big site update today Bitsmack has always been a site devoted to video gaming, classic and current. There is one aspect of classic gaming we have neglected: BBS Games. When I was in middle school, before the Internet, one of my friends had an older brother with a BBS (Bulletin Board System). It was great, we could chat, post messages and for the first time, play games “online”. Well now you can step back in time and try out these games on the Bitsmack BBS. Instead of having to dial into a BBS like the old days you can use your internet connection and a Telnet client. Don’t worry, there’s one built into Windows. Once you create a user you’ll want to go to the “External Programs” section to play games. Right now the only game there is Legend of the Red Dragon. It’s kind of like Everquest without graphics. I’m hoping to get Tradewars to put up soon because it is also a cool game. Try it out and let me know if you have any problems. Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 7

I will trade you this comic for your leftover Easter candy. If you missed our first live Shoutcast Saturday night you can download the MP3 from the Downloads section. I’m not sure when our next one will be but it should be much better. Continue reading "Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 7"

Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 6

Wait a sec, I think he’s going somewhere with this. Cool Site of the Month: http://www.archive.org/ has a feature called the Wayback Machine that lets you look at web pages from years ago. It’s so much fun to see what sites like Gamespot and Nintendo looked like back in 1997. You can have a lot of fun at this site. One more thing, if you want to be recognized for getting your question answered on Ask Bitsmack, you have to put your name after your question. Unless of course you don’t want to be recognized which is entirely possible. Continue reading "Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 6"

Here you go. This comic should releave you of that Tuesday aftertaste. I highly recommend TV. If you don’t have one you should really look into it. Lately, I’ve been watching Trigun and Cowboy Bebop on Cartoon Network. If you are new to anime check these out. This Sunday, Family Guy is coming to Cartoon Network as well. If you get the chance, Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and The Brak Show are good shows if you like weird cartoons that will actually make you laugh. Here’s a couple of site updates. First of all there is a new link to Ask Bitsmack. You can ask about anything, video games, movies, the art of seduction. We are pretty much experts at anything. The second point of business is that I have dethroned K-Dog from the Top Members list. Granted he is in Florida right now, but that is no excuse. What I need from you the users are some ideas to make Bitsmack better. How can I set this site apart from the rest and provide incentives to post reviews? Keep in mind this site brings in no money, so the incentives would have to be non-monatary. I’m open to ideas to make this website keep growing. Click Comments to post your thoughts. Oh yeah, one more thing. For the “Ask Bitsmack” I’ll be answering one question a week, starting next Wednesday. Continue reading "Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 5"

Comics? Yeah, we got that. So I finally got to play Amplitude this weekend, but I have mixed feelings about it. Compared to Frequency they improved about 5 things and made 2 things worse. I guess that means it is better. K-Dog also got all the parts to put together his new computer. The case is a small cube that is pretty cool (not to be confused with his G4 cube, which is not that cool). Saturday, K-Dog, Goz and I worked on a new project “that which cannot be named.” More details on that later. In case you were wondering, a 20” monitor is better than a 17”. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a comic! Other than Final Fantasy Origins I can’t think of any exciting games coming out. I don’t even plan on getting FFO, I still have Dark Cloud 2 and Zelda to play. Therefore I decided to do another ongoing storyline. This might be the longest one yet. Today I’m heading to K-Dog’s to play this glorious Amplitude I’ve heard so much about. I started to brush up on my Frequency skills but Beatmania IIDX is still more fun. In fact, I feel like playing it right now… Continue reading "Ebay-Man: Two Scoops of Evil – Part 1"

Ebay-Man Episode 2 – Two Peas in an iPod

The new comic is up. Because of the drought in new video games I’ve decided to get out one of the classics: The Legend of Zelda, The Ocarina of Time. Instead of playing my Gamecube bonus disk I decided to get out the original because I never finished the game and I didn’t want to start at the beginning. After about an hour trying to figure out where I was in the game I determined I actually only need to beat two more dungeons. Last night K-Dog, the youth group and I went to the Relient K album release party/concert. It was a good time. I haven’t listened to their new album yet but it will be hard to top their last one. One last thing, we’re still looking for comic nominations. So far we have 3. Even if you don’t plan on buying a shirt you can still nominate a comic. I’m curious to see which ones are favorites. Click “comments” below. Continue reading "Ebay-Man Episode 2 – Two Peas in an iPod"

A Hero is Born

With great power comes great irresponsibility. Friday night Goz and I went and saw the movie Old School. It was pretty good. My only complaint was that there really wasn’t a climax to the movie, it was just a bunch of funny stuff that happens and then it ends. Saturday was the DDR tournament at Defiance. I’ll let KDogg go into more detail on that. Continue reading "A Hero is Born"
