No News is Good News

No News is Good News
It’s time for a Bitsmack “Choose your own adventure”. It’s 4am and you are awaken by a pounding at the front door, followed by indistinguishable yelling by a man and a woman. Do you: a. Open the door to see what they want. b. Call the cops. c. Stay in bed and hope the whole thing blows over. If you chose C then you and I think alike. I found out by my neighbor this morning that the guy banging at the door had got stabbed over by the railroad tracks near my condo. I am pretty sure he doesn’t live in my neighborhood. In retrospect I probably should have called the cops, but somebody had already done that and they arrived pretty quickly. And of course it gave me an idea for a comic… Continue reading "No News is Good News"

Second Opinion

Second Opinion
In space, no one can hear you laugh. So last weekend Brad got the idea that we should all play Starcraft online. I had never played it, and didn’t even own it. A quick trip to Target and $19.99 later I was good to go. The game is a lot different than Age of Empires 2 which is the only RTS game I have spent a lot of time with. After getting schooled by Brad a few times I decided I need to practice. It would be nice to get some other people to join us. Maybe we’ll schedule a Bitsmack Starcraft day in the near future. Shock and Eww

Shock and Eww
The Revolution controller has been announced. I don’t know how I feel about this. I saw the video and I am still stunned. Is this the worst idea Nintendo ever had or will it provide a new gameplay experience unlike any other? Please someone tell me how I am supposed to feel about this thing. Great Ideas

Great Ideas
I should start patenting this stuff. I got a new laptop from Dell over the weekend. Using a Slick Deals coupon I got a really good deal on it. Here are the specs for you nerds: 1.6GHz Pentium M, 1GB RAM, 15” widescreen, 60GB hard drive, 128MB ATI video card, CDRW/DVD drive. I thought it would be a good secondary machine but then after I installed Warcraft on it, it is going to be my main gaming machine. Warcraft looks so good on it I feel like I am playing a completely different game. Now the only thing that’s next is getting a wireless keyboard a mouse for it so it is more comfortable playing games. Continue reading "Great Ideas"

The Champ

The Champ
This almost happened. Coolest New Game at Gameworks: Ballistics Ballistics is your typical futuristic racing game like Stun Runner or Wipeout. The difference is you actually lay down and the screen is above you. In the game you pick up boosts like in Hydro Thunder but when you use the boosts your seat shakes violently and the game moves really fast. It was one of the coolest experiences I have had at an arcade game. Continue reading "The Champ"

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Here is a pretty fair assessment of my vacation a couple weeks ago. Over the weekend I bought a new monitor to use for dual display with my eMac. I got a Samsung 17” LCD monitor. It is really nice. I use my second display so I can chat on AIM and surf the web while I am playing Warcraft on my main screen. Continue reading "How I Spent My Summer Vacation"
