According to this article at Gizmodo, the Nintendo DS is rumored to be released Nov. 30 for about $200. Although that is the day after my birthday, a price that high might make me wait to purchase it.

Eurogamer has new pictures of the Nintendo DS. This is a slimmer, cooler looking model than the one that was shown at E3. I’m even more excited now!

In this surprising article from IGN, Microsoft announces that they are taking a year off from all of their sports titles. Of course I’m skeptical about any news I read around April 1st but this one looks real. The article says that they recognize their games aren’t as good as EA or Sega Sports. I wish more companies would recognize their shortcomings, like any company that releases a superhero game.

UPDATE: The fact that I haven’t read this news on any other site leads me to believe it’s an April fools joke. Oh well.

After releasing the Sims and several expansion packs for it, Maxis is making The Sims 2. It will have a new graphics and lighting engine.

On this sequel your Sims are born, age, and die. The original Sims was a great game. I think it sold more copies than any other computer game made.

This sequel might just kick ass. It’s coming out this spring.

I have great news. I just learned that a new Grand Theft Auto game is being made. It’s going to be released some time in 2004. When it’s first released, it will most likely only be made for the Playstation 2.

Many people will flock to stores to buy the new GTA game. I’ll be one of them. GTA 3 and GTA Vice City were two of the best video games ever made. The Electronic Boutique stores alone sold 100,000 copies of GTA Vice City on the day it was released.

I can’t wait to get the new GTA. If you own a PS2, get this new GTA game. Get GTA 3 and Vice City also. You can get them both together for $40.00.

I recently read something in the newest Tips & Tricks that sounds like great news. CAPCOM supposedly agreed to a crossover arcade fighter with Sammy. The result with be Guilty Gear fighters mixing it up with CAPCOM fighters. The idea is to have CAPCOM feature mostly fighters from its Darkstalkers franchise in order to match the dark, rock ‘n roll theme of GGX. While it seemed the source was fairly sure the game is a reality, we’ll just have to wait and see for more details. I’m surely excited about it.

In other news, it seems Spike TV is looking to jump into the video gaming mix. They are planning an upcoming “video game awards” type event. Players can go to www.spiketv.com and click on the link to vote in multiple categories. Going through the categories, I found several nominees to be very lame, as I cast in numerous write-in votes, but it is sort of cool.

I have great news. Rockstar games is releasing Grand theft auto 3 and Grand theft auto Vice City together in a combo pack for the PS2. The combo pack is only going to cost $39.99(This is the price at Electronics Boutique. I’m not sure how much other stores will charge). GTA 3 and GTA Vice City originally cost $50.00 each. You’ll save sixty bucks.

This is a great deal. Two fantastic games at a fantastic price. These were two of the best games made for the PS2. You can’t beat this deal. If you own a PS2 but not the GTA games, get this combo pack. At $39.99, they’re practically giving it away.

I would however like to caution parents. These two games are rated Mature. They have lots of violence in them. They may not be appropriate for small children.

Don’t pass up this combo pack.

I got my wish. I wanted Rockstar to make a Max Payne 2 and they are. It’s being released this November. It’s being made for the Xbox and the PC. If Max Payne 2 is like the original, it will be awesome.

For those of you who don’t know what Max Payne is, it’s a 3rd person shooter. The original had non stop action. But to survive you had to save often. You could have a variety of weapons and you healed yourself with painkillers.

It’s not surprising that Max Payne is made by Rockstar. RockStar knows how to make good games. They also made the Grand Theft Auto games.

If you own a PC or Xbox, you might want Max Payne 2. You may also want the original. It now only costs twenty bucks.

I’m looking forward to playing Max Payne 2.
