I feel like this article was written toward me… esp the very first part.

I am a BIG supporter of Nintendo. I don’t care what Nintendo product it is, I am a “fanboy” for that kind of gaming. I like having fantasy as my backdrop, not all this serious crap (ehe, Splinter Cell, Call of Duty).

Actually if I see another game showcasing war as a fun and exciting experience… I’ll puke!

But on to my rant. XBox360… garbage… same thing! You want reasons, lets start them off.

1) There is no standout title… and, in my opinion, there are no good games. Yeah, I read the review… but you could name atleast one game that made the system passable for the time. What does the XBox360 have? PerfectDark0? COME ONE! There are 26 games that IGN has reviewed… and there is so much crap they have resorted to reviewing downloadable content! And what is the average of these 26 hits? 7.7… and that is unacceptable in my book seeings how these games are more expensive then current titles. Only one game gets a 9.0… and that game is Call of Duty 2 (PUKE!). I will give Microsoft this… they have a nice number of games… but a heap of crap is still a heap of crap. And their #1 game (Call of Duty 2) can also be played on current generation systems. Ouch!

2) Hell, even if I wanted to get an XBox360 I’d either hafta sell my first born or make a deal with the devil. No store has them… or if they do they are selling them with a bunch of accessories that I don’t want (BestBuy is doing this currently and due to this practice I will NEVER shop at a BustBuy again). So the moral of this is that if you want something and you preorder it and wait… you’ll get screwed! Thanks Microsoft & Friends for dicking your fans… we really were hoping for a “screw me over” x-mas.

3) Japan. End of story. You want to be a “world wide leader in video games” you need to target the world. Some stores in Japan announced that they sold 50 XBox360’s in the first two-hours of the launch. Wow… that sucks! I sold more Raj-Thongs! But isn’t it ironic that in Japan you can buy a 360 at any store but here in America you can’t get them at all?

4) I would like to point out that your third point (It takes developers time to grow into a new system) is true. The longer the system is out the better the games will get. That is called EVOLUTION. However, what Mr. Guyz hasn’t spoke about is that the Revolution is using many of the current hardware of this generation. That makes games easier to make from day one. Now we haven’t seen any of the Revolution games… but then again the Revolution isn’t out till mid next year. I can wait to see what my games are because I trust the company making them. Do I trust Microsoft? Think of that question… and the answer is NO!

As a geek I do look through life behind bitter lenses… but the truth is that it is the fault of those who are in charge. The 360’s launch was a horrible mistake that has left a bitter taste in everyones mouth. I didn’t even preorder one, I’m not ever going to buy one, yet I am bitter about it! If you pay $900 on eBay for this system you SHOULD expect wonderful gameplay… yet what do we get? Mediocrity. Is Mediocrity worth what Microsoft, the gaming stores, and eBay say it is? If so I have some copies of “Waterworld” that I’d like you to buy off me.

Why are we bitter? I’d like to ask “why ARN’T we MORE bitter?”

Have a Nice Day :)
